Summer, Summer, Summer Time

Ok so last week I think I did a post about why it is great being single in the summer, well I switched it up this week and here are great inexpensive dating ideas your those in a relationship
1. Watch a movie outside-there are many parks that show free movies during the summer
2. Play tourists-learn about your city! How many of you have actually been to the Statue of Liberty or the top of the Empire State building?
3. Street fair or Carnival

4. Be a kid again- play your favorite childhood games....I'm a beast at ConnectFour...seriously...I would stay away from Monopoly though...it gets a little too competitive. Stick to games like Trouble, Sorry, I De-Clare War, you no the cute games

5. Go on a picnic...you can make cute little sandwiches and pack a nice fruit salad
6. Go to the beach, or get a paddle boat and just drift into the sunset...that was so out of a movie
If you are in New York here are a few inexpensive places to go
1. ColdStone or Haagen Daz then take a walk along the promenade
2. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge...where comfortable shoes...trust me lol
3. If you do not mind a large crowd, probably with familiar faces, go to Habana Outpost
4. Prospect Park
5. The Bronx Zoo...its free on Wednesdays but tons of kids but it can still be fun

6. The Botanic Gardens
7. DUMBO
8. Central Park
9. Free Cooncerts at Wingate Park in Brooklyn
10. Coney Island Boardwalk

Very inexpensive and you get to spend great quality time with your significant other

Our weekend actually started Thursday July 2!
Here's Marie who really killed the boyfriend jean look!
She paired her Boyfriend Jeans with a fitted tank and her skippies
I just went for the casual look in my Chambray dress, black sandals, and wine colored bag

We didn't make it to "Checkers" like we planned but here is Marie at this Thai Restaurant on Smith St.
I could never get the hang of Chopsticks

Our Spring Rolls
Fried Calamari
Curry Puffs
The food was good, but I've had better
Here I am at NY Perks after work mixer. We got there around 5:30
3 for 1 drinks. Had to get our money's worth
This DJ was killin it!
Here we are!
So Friday I went to Pop Burger for a birthday get together for one of my sorors
The fries were DELICIOSO (a lil spanish for ya'll)
My homegirl ShellyBellyBrownSnuggaMuffin came along with me
The burgers were so tiny but they were juicy!
This was so good!
I didnt' catch her name but she looked really cute!
This is actually July 4th. I took Marie to "Battle of Sparta" a Greek Basketball tournament at JHS 113 in Brooklyn. She looked fab in her high-waisted shorts, skippies and classic white shirt
Close up pic!
Later that night I went on the "3-The Hardway BoatRide" sponsored by the Sigmas, Kappas, and Alphas! I had sooooooooooooo much fun!!

One Sunday In Brooklyn...

Its Sunday, and while we were walking along Vanderbilt Ave...we had to stop and take a pic not only of ourselves but of other hot tamales!
Boho Chic...Maire wore her maxi dress with a denim vest and fedora, while I paired mine with bold gold accessories and a burgundy clutch
She looked fabulous in one of the pieces that can be purchased at "Pieces of Brooklyn"
We featured her on our blog before...around Memorial Day. She has a totally different look! We walked up to her and asked to take a pic she said oh I think you guys asked me and my for a pic before...here she is in a 1940s style vintage dress with a vintage bike.
I went to JHS with Floyd...he's a blogger also for http://www.goodiesgotit.com/ check it out the blog is pretty dope so support the bloggers!
His t-shirt is fly with all of the great emcees
Didn't catch his name, but he stood out from the crowd also! Check out his blog
Dapper Don
So after the fashion show, we were starving. We got a bite to eat at Bob Law's Sea Food Cafe. The presentation was horrible and so were those canned mixed veggies, but the seafood platter (Fried whiting, catfish, shrimp, and crab cakes) was on POINT!!!
The prices were reasonable also. $12.99 for the platter with one side dish and $2 for the iced tea. So we paid about $15 each for a meal
So was the CORNBREAD! It was the best corn bread I ever had and my family is from the south so I know good cornbread when I taste it. It was moist and full of flavor, unlike that big brick you get from BBQs. If you want a quick bite to eat go to Bob Law's Sea Food Cafe. Oh yeah, get there home made Iced Tea...it is delicioso.
